RECENT TESTIMONIAL WITH WILD VENISON RECIPE
Hello Auldene Wild
Venison,
I recently purchased some venison stewing steak from you at a farmers market.
I would just like to thank you as the quality of the meat was superb. While
I was at the market I overheard a lady saying she would like to try some but
was unsure how to cook it, here is the simple recipe I use to cook venison stew
in a slow cooker, mabye you could have this recipe to hand for people who are
curious about your product. It works out at about £2 a portion which I
consider quite reasonable.
Venison Stew serves
6.
1Kg Venison stewing
Steak
2Tb's Veg oil
3 stalks Celery diced
1 small Onion diced
2 cloves Garlic crushed
Half Tbs dry Parsley
1Tb's dry Oregano (a little more if you like)
Half Tbs dry Basil
1 Cup Tomato sauce (or 1 can chopped toms with 2 tbs of tomato puree)
Half a Cup dry Red wine
Half a cup water
salt pepper to taste
Brown meat in oil,
place celery and onion in slow cooker, add browned meat and remaining ingredients,
stir, cook for about 8-9 hrs stirring once mid way through. serve with potatoes
of any kind or with rice.
Hope this helps
, thanks again,
Ian Westhead
